Publishing to social
Connect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more — then publish exports from projects or campaigns.
Publishing pushes exported MP4s to connected social accounts without manual downloading and re-uploading. Set up connections once, then publish from project or campaign rows.
Connect Social
Open Settings → Connect Social (or Publishing in the sidebar) to link platforms. OAuth flows run on each network's official authorization screen.
- Click Connect next to a platform.
- Sign in to the social account with publish permissions.
- Grant Vidquel upload scope — read-only is not enough for publishing.
- Confirm the account appears as Connected with handle visible.
Supported platforms
Vidquel supports major distribution channels. Availability may expand over time — the Connect Social page lists current options.
- YouTube — long-form and Shorts channels on linked accounts.
- TikTok — business and creator accounts with upload API access.
- Instagram — Reels and feed video via connected Meta assets.
- LinkedIn — personal profiles and company pages you administer.
- Additional networks as shown in Connect Social.
Tip
Connect the exact account you publish under — mismatched brand vs personal connections cause uploads to wrong profiles.
Permissions
You must be an admin or editor on the destination account. Token expiry shows as Reconnect required — click to refresh without losing history.
Reconnect when needed
Platform APIs change. If publish fails with auth errors, reconnect the account before retrying the upload.
Publish a single project
From a project with a completed export, click Publish. Choose connected destinations, set title, description, tags, and visibility per platform defaults.
- Ensure export completed successfully.
- Click Publish on the project row.
- Select one or more connected accounts.
- Customize metadata fields required by each network.
- Schedule or publish immediately.
Metadata per platform
- YouTube — title, description, tags, visibility, Shorts vs video.
- TikTok — caption, hashtags, cover frame, privacy.
- Instagram — caption, hashtags, share to feed or Reels only.
- LinkedIn — commentary, visibility, document vs video post type.
Publish from campaigns
Campaign publish maps each exported project row to destinations. Bulk publish sends many files in one session — review per-row metadata before confirming.
- Export all ready projects first — publish requires MP4 assets.
- Open Publish campaign from the campaign toolbar.
- Assign accounts per row or apply one template to all.
- Monitor per-row status: queued, live, failed.
Scheduling
Choose Schedule instead of Publish now to pick date and time per platform. Times respect your account timezone in Preferences unless overridden per post.
Tip
Stagger multi-platform publishes by minutes to avoid cross-posting detection on networks that disfavor identical simultaneous posts.
Aspect ratio requirements
Publish validates dimensions against platform rules. Vertical exports go to TikTok and Reels; horizontal to YouTube and LinkedIn. Mismatches show warnings before upload.
Failed publishes
Failed rows retain error messages — file size, duration cap, policy flag, or auth. Fix metadata or reconnect account, then Retry publish without re-exporting if the MP4 is still valid.
Subtitles and platform captions
Burned-in subtitles from Vidquel travel with the video file. Some platforms also accept SRT upload — export without burn-in if you prefer native caption tools.
Compliance
You are responsible for disclosures, music rights, and platform community guidelines. Vidquel does not guarantee approval on moderated networks.
Disconnect accounts
Remove connections from Connect Social anytime. Scheduled posts already accepted stay on platform queues; pending Vidquel jobs may cancel on disconnect.
Analytics
View basic delivery status inside Vidquel — published, scheduled, failed. Detailed analytics remain on each platform's native dashboard.
