Getting started
Create your account, generate your first AI video, refine it in the editor, and export for your target platform.
This guide takes you from sign-up to a published-ready video. Expect about 10–15 minutes for your first complete run.
Before you begin
- A Vidquel account (email sign-up or SSO)
- A clear topic, product, or story angle
- Your target platform — TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, or LinkedIn
- Enough credits for one generation (~8 credits for a typical 30-second video)
Tip
Free accounts start with 50 monthly credits — enough for several short test videos while you learn the workflow.
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up from the Vidquel homepage and confirm your email if prompted. After login you land on the dashboard, where projects, Create, Campaigns, and AI Studio are available.
Step 2: Configure Create
- Platform — vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Shorts, and Reels; square 1:1 for LinkedIn
- Template — browse families and viral formats; try Lightning tip or Cinematic Story first
- Voice — Atlas, Luna, Nova, or Sage; match tone to your audience
- Prompt — include hook, key points, audience, and any product or brand names
Tip
Lead with the viewer problem or curiosity gap — e.g. "3 signs your morning routine is hurting focus" works better than "video about routines."
Step 3: Generate your video
Review the generated script beats and scene outline, then start generation. Vidquel produces voiceover, visuals, and subtitles — most short videos finish within a few minutes and use credits from your plan balance.
Important
If you run out of credits, generation pauses until your monthly allowance refreshes or you upgrade. Check your balance in the dashboard header or billing settings.
Step 4: Refine in the scene editor
Open the finished project in the scene editor. You will see a timeline of scenes — one per script beat.
- Edit narration text per scene without restarting from scratch
- Replace stock or AI visuals with alternatives that better match your message
- Adjust scene duration and pacing on the timeline
- Preview and tune subtitle styling before export
Small copy tweaks often improve retention more than a full re-generation. Iterate hooks and CTAs in the first and last scenes first.
Step 5: Export and publish
When you are satisfied, export the video. Resolution depends on your plan: 720p on Free (with watermark), 1080p on Pro, and up to 4K on Business.
- Open the project and choose Export
- Confirm aspect ratio matches your platform preset
- Download the file or use your connected publishing workflow
- Upload to TikTok, Shorts, Reels, or LinkedIn with your caption and hashtags
Step 6: Scale with Campaigns and AI Studio
Once one video works, use Campaigns to batch-produce hook variations. Open AI Studio for ongoing help — Guidance only for questions, or Allow actions when you want the mentor to create videos, apply edits, or manage campaigns.
Tip
After your first export, duplicate the project, change only the hook scene, and compare performance. Vidquel is built for fast iteration.
