Account settings

Profile, Preferences, Security, and Notifications — configure your Vidquel workspace.

Account settings control identity, defaults, security, and alerts. Open Settings from the avatar menu in the dashboard header.

Settings tabs overview

Settings is organized into four tabs. Each persists independently — save per section when you make changes.

  • Profile — name, email, avatar, workspace display.
  • Preferences — language, timezone, editor defaults.
  • Security — password, SSO, sessions, two-factor.
  • Notifications — email and in-app alerts.

Profile

Profile is your public identity inside the workspace and on collaborative features.

  • Display name — shown on project activity and Business seat lists.
  • Email — login and invoice destination; verify after change.
  • Avatar — optional; appears in comments and AI Studio.
  • Workspace name — Business admins edit organization label.

Change email

  1. Enter new email in Profile.
  2. Confirm password or SSO re-auth.
  3. Click verification link sent to the new address.
  4. Old email loses login access after verification completes.

Important

Changing email does not migrate connected social OAuth to a new identity on third-party networks — reconnect Publish accounts if needed.

Preferences

Preferences set defaults for new projects and how dates display across the app.

  • Language — UI language for dashboard and docs links.
  • Timezone — schedules publishing and notification timestamps.
  • Default platform — pre-selects Create platform preset.
  • Default subtitle style — applied to new projects when enabled.
  • Editor autosave interval — balance safety vs performance.

Tip

Set timezone to your primary publishing market so scheduled posts go live when your audience is awake.

Connect Social

While not a top-level tab label on all layouts, Connect Social lives under Settings or Publishing. Link YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms for one-click publish.

  1. Open Connect Social from Settings sidebar.
  2. Authorize each platform with publish scope.
  3. Set default accounts per network for faster publish flows.
  4. Reconnect when tokens expire — status shows Connected or Action required.

Security

Security protects account access and active sessions.

  • Password — change with current password confirmation.
  • SSO — Google or Microsoft sign-in when enabled for workspace.
  • Two-factor authentication — TOTP app recommended.
  • Active sessions — revoke unknown devices.

Enable two-factor

  1. Open Security → Two-factor authentication.
  2. Scan QR code with authenticator app.
  3. Enter verification code to confirm.
  4. Store backup codes in a secure location.

Protect backup codes

Losing authenticator and backup codes may lock you out — contact support with account verification details.

Notifications

Choose which events email you or appear in the in-app bell.

  • Export complete — single and bulk jobs.
  • Publish status — success and failure per platform.
  • Credit low — threshold warning before empty balance.
  • Campaign batch — build pause, resume, retry summaries.
  • Billing — renewal reminder and payment failure.
  • Product updates — optional marketing and changelog.

Email vs in-app

In-app notifications always show critical job status. Email duplicates are optional — disable marketing noise while keeping export failures on.

Billing shortcut

Billing opens from Settings sidebar or Profile menu. Manage plan, payment method, invoices, and credit top-ups without leaving account context.

Delete account

Account deletion is under Security or Profile depending on layout. Permanent removal deletes projects, exports, chats, and connections after confirmation cooldown.

Before deleting

Download MP4s and export credit history before deletion — recovery is not guaranteed after the grace window.

Business admin settings

Business admins see additional controls: seat invites, role permissions, shared credit policies, and optional SSO enforcement for the organization.

Privacy

Review the privacy policy linked in Settings footer. Control product analytics opt-out where offered in Preferences on supported regions.
