Exports and presets
Export MP4 files, understand resolution by plan, and run bulk exports from projects and campaigns.
Export turns your saved project into a downloadable MP4. Resolution, watermark, and batch options depend on your plan and where you start the export.
Before you export
Confirm the project is saved and the timeline previews cleanly. Export always uses the last saved state — not unsaved editor experiments.
- Play the full timeline once.
- Click Save in the editor header.
- Open Export from the project menu or editor toolbar.
- Choose resolution and options, then start the render.
Save first
Exporting without saving first is the most common reason exported videos miss recent edits.
MP4 output
Vidquel delivers H.264 MP4 files optimized for social platforms. Audio is AAC stereo. Files appear in the project Downloads area when complete.
- Single export — one MP4 for the current project.
- Bulk export — multiple projects from Projects or Campaigns views.
- Email notification optional when long renders finish.
Resolution by plan
Maximum export resolution is tied to your subscription. The export dialog shows only options your plan allows.
- Free — 720p with watermark.
- Pro — 1080p without watermark.
- Business — 4K and team features; highest credit tier per minute.
Tip
Match export resolution to your distribution platform. Publishing 4K to TikTok does not improve feed quality — 1080p is often sufficient.
Aspect ratio presets
Presets encode safe zones and dimensions from your Create platform choice. Changing preset at export time may letterbox or crop — prefer setting platform at creation.
- 9:16 — TikTok, Reels, Shorts.
- 16:9 — YouTube, LinkedIn video.
- 1:1 — Instagram feed placements.
Credits at export
Credits consume on successful export based on duration and resolution. Failed exports do not charge. Approximate cost shows in the export dialog before you confirm.
Important
Re-exporting the same project after edits charges credits again. Iterate in preview; export when finalized.
Bulk export from Projects
On the Projects page, select multiple completed projects and choose Bulk export. Each project renders in queue; download links appear per project when ready.
- Filter projects by status — only saved, editor-ready projects qualify.
- Select checkboxes on the rows you need.
- Click Bulk export and confirm resolution.
- Monitor progress in the notifications panel.
Bulk export from Campaigns
Campaigns can export every linked project in one action — useful for multi-variant tests or regional cuts. Open the campaign, click Export all, and confirm settings.
- All projects must be in a ready state — no pending editor saves.
- Same resolution applies to the batch unless you customize per row.
- Failed items stay in queue for retry without blocking successful siblings.
Pause and resume
Long bulk jobs support pause and resume from the campaign toolbar. Paused jobs hold their place in queue; resume when bandwidth or credits are available.
Subtitles in export
If subtitles are enabled, they are burned into the MP4. Disable in project settings before export if you need a clean video for manual caption upload.
Download and storage
Downloads remain available in the project for a limited window. Save copies to your local drive or cloud storage for archival — especially before deleting projects.
Tip
Name exports clearly when saving locally — campaign variant, date, and platform help when uploading to multiple channels.
Troubleshooting failed exports
If export fails, check credit balance, media URLs, and plan resolution limits. Retry from the project or campaign row. Persistent failures are covered in the Troubleshooting guide.
After export
Use Publishing to push MP4s to connected social accounts, or download and upload manually. Keep the project if you plan to re-edit — exports do not replace the editable draft.
